The Minutes

Tracy Letts' play The Minutes follows a newcomer to the small town of Big Cherry who questions a mysteriously missing council member and the town's secret history, revealing hypocrisy, greed, and a disturbing truth about the town's heritage during a city council meeting. The play uses the "minutes" of past meetings as a metaphor for the town's official history and the manipulation of the past, ultimately leading to a dark and surreal climax involving a tribal ritual that appropriates and distorts local culture.
